New Black Ops 6 Zombies Map Releases Tomorrow With Season 1

Activision’s brand-new Zombies map experience is about to launch in Season 01 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. After revealing details in early November, the company announced the release date for the new zombies map Citadelle Des Morts. It’ll launch on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m. PT alongside a new perk-a-cola, field upgrade and ammo mod.

Fans of Black Ops 3 zombies will note that the castle layout is very reminiscent of Der Eisendrache. The last time Call of Duty got a new zombies map this early was 2018 with Black Ops 4’s Dead of the Night.

The first season for the game, which began its rollout on Nov. 14, will add a total of six new maps (one of them a variant) as well as a new zombies map and three new modes including Ransack, Prop Hunt and Multiplayer Ranked Play.

Activision posted an extensive update on the Call of Duty blog, and the information was also released on the PlayStation blog. This follows the recent news of a revamped Nuketown map drop and the addition of Infected mode as well as an extended double-XP event. One of the six new maps for season 1 will be a holiday version of the new Nuketown. The battle-royale mode Warzone will also get a new Resurgence map, Area 99, and will incorporate changes from Black Ops 6, including Omnimovement as well as sprays and emotes.

The updates have already been plentiful for Black Ops 6, but Season 01 promises to bring more maps, modes bundles and weapons to the game.

For players who haven’t yet completed the Main Quest easter eggs for launch maps, Terminus and Liberty Falls, a new Directed Mode is coming with season 1. This guided experience will take players through the narrative beats of those maps without forcing them to look up complicated YouTube guides for help. Players looking to unlock an exclusive calling card, however, must earn the unique cosmetic by completing the Main Quests before the Directed Mode launches.

Very little is known about Citadelle des Morts, the new Call of Duty zombies map coming midseason.

A Hit List event is on tap for the season, but it doesn’t yet have a release date. Some of the new weapons for Season 01 include battle pass weapons the Krig C AR and the Saug SMG. There will also be Buffer Weight Stock and Dragon’s Breath attachments in addition to in-season additions.

Also on tap for season 1 are two new bundles, Tracer Pack: The Replacer and Brightmare. Tracer Pack will be out on Nov. 14, with Brightmare to follow at a later date.

Activision says it’s holding a few content mysteries secret for now, but for the rest of the details on what’s been revealed so far, you can check the very lengthy post at the Call of Duty blog.
