ASH Trojans fall to Edna Karr Cougars in LHSAA Prep Classic Championship

NEW ORLEANS, La. (KALB) – The Trojans’ historic season came to a close in the Superdome on Saturday, December 14.

In the final round of the Division I Select Playoffs, the ASH Trojans (13-1) lost to the Edna Karr Cougars (14-0), 53-8.

The Trojans’ offense was locked down by the Cougars, with five three-and-outs, a season-low 3.7 yards per carry (YPC) and a pass completion rate of 33%.

ASH’s star running back, JT Lindsey, was held to 115 yards on 22 attempts for an average of 5.2 YPC.

ASH defense forced four turnovers and held the Cougars to an average 7.9 YPC. That was not enough, however, to stop the Cougars.

Though the Trojans were handed their first loss of the season, that cannot diminish what has been a truly remarkable season.

They walk away from Saturday’s game in the Dome towards a bright future, with the respect, admiration and support of a community awaiting them in Alexandria.
