January 21 2025 will forever be known when a historic winter storm took shape across southeast Louisiana. Most locations saw anywhere between 4-8in+, with some areas (including us at WDSU) receiving 10in.A large swath of heavy snow that dropped 6-10in fell across the metro, the river parishes, parts of the northern bayou parishes, and extended to parts of the Northshore to include Slidell. This was very close to our actual forecast, with the exception of the high 6-10in band that set up. So, it’s fair to say this storm overperformed.Either way, This was the snowiest day for the New Orleans metro in over 100 years!
