Swiss socialite and cosmetic surgery enthusiast Jocelyn Wildenstein, popularly known as “Catwoman” due to her dramatic transformations, has passed away at 84. Her partner confirmed her demise on Wednesday. “It is with heavy heart and with great sadness that Mr Lloyd Klein announces the unexpected death of his beloved fiance and longtime companion Jocelyne Wildenstein,” the fashion designer said in a statement sent to AFP.
“Mrs Wildenstein died peacefully in her sleep in the late afternoon of December 31st, 2024 in her… suite in Paris where the couple had taken temporary residence since August of 2024,” Klein added.
Jocelyn Wildenstein, born Jocelynnys Dayannys da Silva Bezerra Périsset on August 5, 1940, in Lausanne, Switzerland, was a socialite who gained global recognition for her lavish lifestyle and highly publicised cosmetic surgeries.
Little is known about her early years, however, her life took a dramatic turn when she married Alec Wildenstein, a billionaire art dealer and heir to the prestigious Wildenstein art dynasty, in 1978. Following the marriage, Jocelyn became a prominent figure in New York’s elite society, capturing the public’s attention for her ever-evolving appearance through plastic surgeries.

Jocelyn and Alec Wildenstein broke their marriage in the 1990s in one of the most high-profile and costly divorce settlements in history. The reported $2.5 billion settlement also included a provision for Jocelyn to receive $100 million annually for the next 13 years, as reported by The Guardian.
She was last spotted in France with Lloyd Klein just two weeks ago. According to reports, Klein tried waking her up in the late afternoon of December 31 so they could get ready for New Year’s Eve dinner but she never woke up.
