Roads will be a mess this morning as road crews try to keep up with the steady snow. We will continue to have steady snow through the early afternoon, then a few lighter snow showers for the afternoon and early evening. Snowfall totals along I-70 and south will be in the 5”-8+” range, and some areas will end up a little more than that 8”. Areas just north of I-70 are in the 4”-6” range once the snow wraps up, and northern parts of our viewing area will pick up 2”-4” by later today.
The National Weather Service expanded their Winter Storm Warning to include all areas along I-70 and to the south. Winter Weather Advisory for the lighter snow areas include Hardin, Union, Delaware and Coshocton counties until this evening.
Winds today will pick up, out of the north, 15-25+ mph and this will cause blowing and drifting snow. Winds become a little lighter tonight. We will have our temperatures stay in the 20s all day today, and then dip into the teens tonight with wind chills falling into the single digits.
Tuesday will be a cold and calmer day. Wind chills will be in the single digits in the morning, then we will warm to a high around 24 with mostly cloudy skies. A few flurries are possible, but no accumulating snow.
Another weak disturbance Wednesday may bring another round of light snow. We will remain mostly cloudy, with morning temps around 15 then a high around 23. A few light snow showers possible during the second half of Wednesday, with light accumulations possible — but it will be in pockets, not widespread, and a few bands of lake-effect snow.
Very cold Thursday with a high around 22 and partly cloudy skies. We will likely start with temps around 10 Thursday before that high of 22. A break in the clouds that night will allow temps to fall into the single digits by Friday morning.
Another disturbance Friday into Saturday could bring another light round of snow showers for most of central Ohio. This round looks to be a little lighter compared to the round we are dealing with right now. We will keep an eye on it as we get closer and keep you updated. Right now it appears to swing through during the second half of Friday into early Saturday. High temperatures around 23 on Friday, for a fluffy snow, then 29 this weekend.
