In the weeks leading up to Christmas, the British royal family gave us an abundance of holiday cards (Meghan Markle’s was particularly noteworthy), a caroling concert hosted by Kate Middleton and the reveal of the hardest working royal of 2024. And now, the Christmas Day festivities have spilled out into the public eye, giving us a look at all of our favorite royal family members.

Today, Princess Catherine, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis accompanied King Charles and Queen Camilla for Christmas Day church service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk. And, per tradition, a royal photo opp was involved.
What I can’t get over (and what jumped out to me immediately)? The matching outfits.

In a fab fashion moment, Princess Catherine twinned in green with Queen Camilla. Both donned dark green coats (albeit in different shades), matching fascinators, black gloves and boots. Was this coordination intentional? It would be hard to imagine it was an accident.
But that’s not all. Take a closer looks at Catherine’s scarf which just so happens to match Prince George and Prince Louis’s ties. And they all match Princess Charlotte’s coat. Again, likely not a mistake.

As for who was missing this year? Prince Andrew, naturally, did not make an appearance (he’s a little busy with, well, you know). Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie also were not in attendance. Initially, both women were set to spend the holiday with their respective in-laws. However, Princess Beatrice’s plans were scrapped due to medical advice.

As ABC News points out, the royals at Sandringham exchange gifts on Christmas Eve, attend church service on Christmas morning before the monarch’s annual televised address, enjoy a Christmas evening buffet together and participate in pheasant shooting the following day.

Seeing the family make the walk to Christmas morning service at Sandringham Church should be old hat at this point. Last year, Princess Catherine was photographed with Will and the kids in her final public outing before her 2024 ‘disappearance’.

As we all know, she subsequently underwent abdominal surgery, released a Photoshopped family portrait and revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer.
I’m just happy to see the royal family back together for the holidays. (Maybe next year we can get Harry and Meghan to make the trip?)
