KC Announcer Confirms Andy Reid’s Feelings on Chiefs’ Performance After HC Announced Travis Kelce’s New Role

‘The refs are helping them get wins,’ say all the non-Chiefs fans this year. That’s the explanation people have for the Chiefs winning 14 out of their 15 games so far. Thanks to the Bills for putting one in their losing column. Don’t you think Chiefs games have become too predictable now? Speaking of which, a Kansas Chiefs’ source has weighed in on the Chiefs’ week 16 game against the Texans, revealing Andy Reid‘s thoughts about his team’s performance.

On December 24, ‘the voice of the Chiefs,’ Mitch Holthus, sat down for a chat with Carrington Harrison, the host of The Drive. During their conversation about the week 16 game, Carrington said, “Mitch, usually, you know, the job just forces me to find things that went wrong and discuss them. I don’t have any complaints about the game. I actually think that that’s the best game that they have played so far this season.” The KC announcer quickly chimed in, saying, “Andy Reid agrees with you, sir, you’re in a good company.”

Andy Reid wasn’t too happy with how his team played in some games this season, like in Week 13 against the Raiders, where they barely scraped by with a two-point win (19-17). Then they pulled off the same tight score in Week 14 against the Chargers. After those close calls, the coach feels the week 16 game was finally a complete performance. QB Patrick Mahomes, returning from an ankle injury, racked up 260 yards and scored a touchdown. Rookie Xavier Worthy added another TD, while RB Kareem Hunt chipped in with a touchdown of his own.

Travis Kelce’s life is quite happening these days, thanks to his pop star girlfriend, Taylor Swift. But there is not much happening on the gridiron from his side. Kelce has hit his career low this season, racking up only 739 yards and having just two TDs to his name in 15 games till week 16. Talk about disappointment. Now, with numbers that low, Andy Reid might shift his role in the team. Just before Christmas, the Chiefs signed Vikings TE Robert Tonyan to their practice squad. Uh oh! It’s going to hurt Swifties a lot (and Kelce fans, of course).

Now, as Robert’s addition to the team sparks speculations of a possible shift in Kelce’s role, the HC’s comments have added fuel to the fire. “I’m not telling you he doesn’t like to play and catch and do all that stuff. He’ll sacrifice for the cause… He’s willing to help out everywhere.” So, does ‘sacrifice’ here mean Kelce sacrificing his role within the team? Well, this is something that only time will tell. The 35-year-old has been playing with the Chiefs for 11 years now. Also, would Patrick Mahomes be okay with the Chiefs’ decision? After all, Kelce and Mahomes are besties.

As of now, there is no official word on whether Tonyan will play against the Steelers. But the Chiefs signing him so close to the playoffs does mean something. Whatever happens, we’ll find out soon. For now, just buckle up for the intense rivalry that’s about to unfold on your screens in a few hours. And after that get ready to thank Santa for the gifts.
