Leon Edwards vs Sean Brady UFC London result: Fans leave early during main event mismatch

Leon Edwards’ career as a top UFC welterweight is in tatters after a second consecutive loss.

Leon Edwards hoped to get back into the win column after losing his welterweight title against Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 last July.

Sean Brady, who has also suffered a defeat against the current 170lb king, agreed to step into the UFC London main event on late notice when Jack Della Madellana was pulled from the card and given a title shot at UFC 315 in May.

Brady made good on his big opportunity as he dominated ‘Rocky’ en route to a fourth-round submission win.

There was no glove touch before both men came out swinging bombs at the start of round one.

Brady, who is known as a wrestler, put together impressive combinations that landed cleanly during the first frame – but Edwards looked like the sharper and faster striker when they clashed on the feet at London’s O2 Arena.

A trip to end the round for Brady allowed him to ride out the final 15 seconds on top of Edwards.

The American caught Edwards off guard by shooting for a takedown at the very start of round two.

‘Rocky’ remained on his back for the next five minutes fending off strikes and submission attempts.

Edwards initially fended off Brady’s grappling attacks and landed a couple of eye-catching punches.

However, the fight soon hit the floor and he was once again mauled by the 14-1 welterweight star.

It was more of the same in the fourth frame, which saw Brady take things up a notch, and UK fight fans begin to make their way to the exit.

Soon after, Edwards was stopped for the first time ever when he tapped out to Brady’s guillotine choke.
