The second semifinal matchup of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff provided another exciting game.
No. 8 seed Ohio State took down No. 5 seed Texas, 28-14, in the Cotton Bowl and secured a berth in the National Championship Game. Texas was a yard away from tying the game in the final minutes, but Ohio State came up with a pair of pivotal defensive plays to seal the victory.
Ohio State will face No. 7 seed Notre Dame, which took down No. 6 seed Penn State in a last-second thriller in the Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Thursday, in the national championship game on Jan. 20.
