Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss family fight erupts over his widow’s claims

Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ family has reportedly erupted into a fight over Allison Holker’s comments about the late star.

Friends and family of Boss, who died of suicide at age 40 in December 2022, are angered after the late professional dancer’s widow labelled him a drug addict after publicly discussing his alleged struggles with addiction.

They called her out for her tell-all memoir and its related press, slamming Holker, 36, for what they called a ‘smear campaign for a buck.’

His other family members disputed her claims about his alleged drug abuse with the late DJ’s brother Dré Rose insisting he was not an addict.

A reality star from the Real Housewives franchise also joined in and criticized Holker for revealing the late star’s alleged addiction issues.

The comments on social media started popping up on Tuesday after Holker’s claims were published in a People article about her upcoming memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light.

She alleged that it was after his death and before his funeral when she found a ‘cornucopia’ of drugs — including mushrooms, pills and ‘other substances’ she had to ‘look up’ — that her late husband had hidden inside shoeboxes.

‘I was with one of my really dear friends, and we were cleaning out the closet and picking out an outfit for him for the funeral,’ she told the outlet.

‘It was a really triggering moment for me because there were a lot of things I discovered in our closet that I did not know existed. It was very alarming to me to learn that there was so much happening that I had no clue [about],’ she said.

‘It was a really scary moment in my life to figure that out, but it also helped me process that he was going through so much and he was hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that.’

In the article, she told the outlet that she wanted to ‘share the truth’ to help other people feel safe in asking for help and support in difficult times.

However, other loved ones of the late star went on to claim she had different intentions.

Family friend Courtney Ann Platt shared a photo of the article on her Instagram on Tuesday and penned a lengthy caption condemning Holker’s memoir and her claims.

Boss’ brother Dré Rose also weighed in and reposted Platt’s statement to his Instagram Story, adding: ‘No lies told…’

Platt, who said she was there the day Holker and Boss got engaged as well as when they got married, slammed the book and its press as ‘by far the most tacky, classless, opportunistic act I have ever seen in my entire life.’

Holker and her late husband were married for nearly a decade before his death. Holker was already mother to daughter Weslie, 16, whom Boss later adopted. The couple later welcomed son Maddox, eight, and daughter Zaia, five

She made a claim that Holker had people sign nondisclosure agreements to attend his funeral, which several Boss family members would also seemingly corroborate.

Platt criticized her former friend for writing and publishing ‘all the dirty laundry smearing his name and attempting to dim the bright loyal, loving, light that was your husband, my friend.’

She also slammed Holker for ‘shamelessly sharing the pages’ of her late husband’s journal.

‘This smear campaign for a buck is absolutely not what he would have ever wanted. No matter how bad he was hurting. Not for second. You’re a living, breathing bulldozer. Stick to your own demons. Shame on you Allison, shame on your money hungry team. Let my friend Rest in Peace not your PR.’

One of Boss’ cousins also took to X and called Holker a ‘crazy woman’ who is ‘trying to tarnish his legacy’ and is refusing to let his family see his children.

She also claimed Holker made her and the rest of Boss’ family sign nondisclosure agreements before attending his funeral.

‘Yeah [I don’t give a f***] about an NDA,’ she wrote. ‘This crazy woman made me and his actual family … sign an NDA just to even attend the funeral. She’s been trying to tarnish his legacy and refuses to let the Boss family see the children. Only to exploit and LIE on my cousin. Hell no.’

This comes after the Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace Dillard slammed Holker for publicly discussing the late star’s struggles in a tell-all memoir.

‘This white woman is doing everything BUT protecting her Black children and her Black husband’s legacy. She could’ve kept this in her therapist’s office. SMH.’

Holker has not directly responded to any of the comments from Boss’ family and friends.

However, she did appear to defend herself in response to fitness trainer and fellow dancer Kelly Gibson’s comment underneath People’s Instagram post.

‘This whole thing made me sad. He’s gone. Why tear apart his name? I was fully supportive about you moving [on] and being happy but this paycheck was not worth disgracing his name,’ Gibson commented.

In response, Holker wrote: ‘I’ll always love you. Just trying to help people feel safe to ask for help and support.’
