The Sunset fire erupted Wednesday evening in Runyon Canyon.

A fast-moving fire is burning in Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills.

The fire is burning south toward Hollywood Boulevard.

An evacuation zone was established for the area between the 101 Freeway on the east and Laurel Canyon on the west, and between Mulholland Drive on the north and Hollywood Boulevard on the south.

An evacuation advisory has been issued to a wider swath of Hollywood Boulevard south to Sunset Boulevard and west to Coldwater Canyon Drive.

Officials are urging people to avoid the area so that residents can evacuate and fire crews can get stationed.

Pan Pacific Recreation Center, 7600 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles.

Hollywood High School will serve as an evacuation site, KTLA reported. The school is at 1521 Highland Ave.
