The NFL’s biggest game of the year is just around the corner.
Super Bowl LIX — the 59th championship game to date — will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. As always, fans are already buzzing about which teams will make it to the final match-up of the season and who will ultimately take home the coveted Lombardi Trophy.
But there’s more to the Super Bowl than just football. Celebrity-inspired snacks, star-studded commercials and an epic halftime performance make the game a must-watch for even those who aren’t die-hard football fanatics. Considering how the event is always teeming with Hollywood A-listers (including unexpected icons like Taylor Swift), who knows what surprises are in store this year.
From which highly-anticipated entertainers are set to perform to how to watch the big game, here’s everything to know about 2025 Super Bowl.

The 2025 Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025. Kick-off for the game begins at 6:30 p.m. EST, but pre-game festivities, like the national anthem, will start earlier. Fox also announced that Olivia Culpo is hosting The Tubi Red Carpet at Super Bowl LIX, a first-of-its-kind live pre-show covering celebrity fashion and culture, which will start at 3:30 p.m. EST.

The 2025 Super Bowl will be held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, home to the New Orleans Saints — and the location is long overdue. In 2018, the NFL announced that the 2024 Super Bowl would be held in the Big Easy. However, because the game date would have conflicted with Mardi Gras, it was pushed to 2025.
This year will mark the 11th time New Orleans has hosted a Super Bowl, and the league has already made an homage to the city through the game’s official logo. Unveiled in February 2024, the numerals feature colorful artwork by Tahj Williams of the Black Masking Indian tribe. It’s the first time in NFL history that the league collaborated with a local artist to make the official logo.
“The artist who created our new logo, Tahj Williams, is the queen of her Black Masking Indian tribe in New Orleans, the home of Super Bowl LIX,” read a post from the official NFL account on X. “With a beading tradition and culture that dates back to the birth of the nation, the Black Masking Indian tribe uses methods passed down for generations, and Tahj painstakingly built the Super Bowl LIX Logo bead by bead.”

In November 2024, the NFL announced that artist Jon Batiste would perform the U.S. national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” at the 2025 Super Bowl. A New Orleans native, the multi-hyphenate musician has won five Grammys and one Academy Award for his work as a singer, songwriter and composer. His music has appeared in films like Saturday Night and Sonic the Hedgehog, and he served as the musical director for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert from 2015 to 2021.
Additional pre-game acts include Trombone Shorty performing “America the Beautiful” alongside Christian music singer Lauren Daigle and a performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by artist Ledisi. Trombone Shorty and Ledisi are also from New Orleans, and Daigle is a native of Louisiana.

In September 2024, Kendrick Lamar announced via a video on his YouTube channel that he was selected to perform at the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. He was selected by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, which works with the NFL to select the halftime show performer.
This marks the second time the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper and 17-time Grammy winner will hit the NFL stage. In 2022, he joined Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige for Dr. Dre’s show at Super Bowl LVI.
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” Lamar said in a statement. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
After the announcement, Lil Wayne expressed his disappointment over not being chosen as the performer for his native city in an Instagram video. Lamar addressed the comments in the opening track of his sixth album GNX, “Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down.”
