The road ends in Atlanta.
After a season long road journey and trip that began in August in Dublin, “College GameDay” is traveling to its final destination of the season to cover the biggest game of the week in college football.
And with one game on the slate, it’s an easy indication on where Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee and Co. will be for their final trip of the season: the CFP championship between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 8 Ohio State.

It is the third consecutive season that the Buckeyes and the Irish will meet, with Ohio State and Ryan Day winning each of the previous two meetings.
Ohio State quarterback Will Howard enters Monday’s contest having completed 73.8% of his passes through the Buckeyes’ first three CFP games against No. 8 Tennessee, No. 1 Oregon and No. 5 Texas. In the Buckeyes’ CFP Cotton Bowl semifinal, the Kansas State transfer finished 24 of 33 passing for 289 yards and a touchdown.
Monday night’s CFP championship game is a heavy weight matchup from top to bottom statistically, most notably on the defensive side of the ball. Ohio State brings the No. 1 scoring defense in the country (12.2 points per game) into the game, with Notre Dame right behind at No. 2 (14.3).
